In Rust the group is everything — a solo spends wipe day hiding, a group of six claims a monument. Since the Common Ground update in July 2026, Rust has a real clan system built at the Clan Table, but recruiting still comes down to one question: who is online when the server wipes? Browse clan posts below or post your own with server, group size and the hours you play.
Clans arrived in the July 2026 Common Ground update as a bigger version of teams: you create and manage a clan at a Clan Table, give members roles with different permissions, and get a clan chat and message of the day. The ordinary team still exists alongside it. Clans are not available in hardcore mode.
The September 2026 update made group size cost something: Tool Cupboard upkeep now scales with how many players are tied to a base. The first four add nothing, the next six add a little each and larger groups pay more, up to a cap — server owners can tune or disable it. Expect zerg clans to split into smaller bases, and expect more groups looking for three or four reliable players instead of fifteen.
Rust groups recruit around time and trust. Nobody wants the player who logs off during an online raid or the one who leaves with the loot.
Decide on the group limit first. A trio looking at a no-limit server will be raided by a clan of twenty; the same trio on a trio-max server has a real game. Monthly servers wipe on the first Thursday of the month together with the forced update, weekly and bi-weekly community servers in between — say which you play. A good recruitment post names the server or server type, the group limit and the wipe you are planning for.
LF group for Thursday wipe — EU, 6–8 hours on wipe day, farmer / builder, decent at PvP. Played trio-max and no-limit servers. Mic + Discord.
Quad looking for one more for monthly official wipe. NA East, online 18:00–02:00. Need an electrician or a reliable roofcamper.
Yes. The Common Ground update (July 2026) added clans, created and managed at a Clan Table, with member roles and permissions, clan chat and a message of the day. Teams still exist alongside clans, and clans are not available in hardcore mode.
It depends on the server's group limit and, since September 2026, on upkeep: Tool Cupboard upkeep scales with the number of players tied to a base, so groups of up to four pay no extra. Many groups now aim for three to six reliable players.
Official and most monthly servers wipe on the first Thursday of each month with the forced update. Community servers often also wipe weekly or bi-weekly — check the server's description.
Post a few days before wipe with your hours, role, region, server type and group limit. Recruiters fill their roster before the wipe, not after it.
